How To - Documentation for Administrators

As a concept a Shopify Store and this theme, by default, are based on tags. The tagging system will generate almost the entire logic like collections, filters, lists, etc.

Add a product to a Collection

Proper tags to target the specific Collection are required.

Example: we want a product to be shown in Men > Men Beauty > Perfumes and/or in Beauty > Beauty Men > Perfumes.

Tags required would be: men, men-beauty, perfumes (targeting first subcategories) PLUS beauty, beauty-men, perfumes.

Product targeting Sports > Sports Women > Clothing will have the tags: sports, sports-women, clothing

Product targeting Sports > Sports Men > Clothing will have the tags: sports, sports-men, clothing

In this manner we will have products from collection Clothing which is valid and targeting specific categories. Understanding this approach will ease the product adding for any category.

Brands in the left sidebar menu

You need to add the Vendor (=Brand) as a tag on the product item.

Product Badges

New Badge:

to add badges on products add the following tags into product description:

[icon-new-always]    =>  for NEW tag

Add "Price" and "Compare at price" in Product Edit for On Sale tag.

New / Featured products on Homepage:

To display a product into the NEW or FEATURED products section on the homepage you have to add tag "new" or "featured" on the products you want to display.

Brands list:

The list of brands depends on product vendor and the vendor name added as a tag on the product. Example: product Adidas CloudFoam Speed has as Vendor: "Adidas" and must have tag "Adidas" too to be displayed when filtering by brand.

First, the filters must be enabled from the admin side: Admin/Online Store/Themes/Customize theme. Here you enable each kind of filter you want. For example, check the Show List Sizes and complete the sizes you want to be displayed on the website and those values must be "tags" on products to target the results.

Example. Show List Sizes -> with values -> XS,S,M,L,XL,XXL

Products must have tags with "XS", "S" and so on to be displayed when filtering by size. Multiple sizes (tags) can be applied.

The same rule applies to all filters.

Filter values:

Size: XS,S,M,L,XL,XXL,5,5.56,6.5,7,7.5,8,8.5,9,9.5

Price: Dhs. 10-99,Dhs. 100-199,Dhs. 200-500,Dhs. 500-700,Dhs. 700-1000,Dhs. 1000+

Vendor: the vendor name

Color: black, blue, dark-turquoise, green, grey, light-grey, orange, pale-violet-red, pink, purple, red, tan, violet, white, yellow

Product Page Edit

In order to make changes to the product page you need to go to admin area > Themes > Customize Theme > Product Page (on the right sidebar). Here you can enable/disable and edit content of blocks of html code like descriptions, tabs, the right column, etc.

Brand Logo and Brand Description on Product Page

On the product page you can add the logo and a description near the logo that will be place below customer reviews starts and above the add to cart button. To do this, go to Products from the admin area and in Description, click on the right icon "Show html" and add this:

<div class="product-info__description__brand">

<img src="//" alt="" />

<div class="product-info__description__text"><meta charset="utf-8" />

You need to change that image with the current vendor of the product and the description instead of that dummy text.

Editing the right column in Product Page

You need to go into admin area > Themes > Customize Theme > Product Page (on the right sidebar). Scroll bottom to "Custom Html, visible only in screen size > 1770px" and in that text area is the content.
Tip: You can copy all that content in a text editor to easy edit and then copy back into the text area and save.
